The Books

When I was young, I used to read — a lot. I still do but the extensive reading during my childhood is what made me a story-loving adult. The Moomins, Marvel and DC Comics, and Uppo-Nalle were some of my favorites. As I grew older, I got into scifi and fantasy by some fantastic authors like Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and I was part of the lucky generation who faced the horrors of teenage life together with J.K. Rowlings' Harry Potter.

More recently, I've read a lot of non-fiction and I've gathered a list of books and articles I recommend when people ask for recommendations.

The Talks

I love both talking and watching inspiring people talk. Most of my talks are not online but I wanted to highlight a few I've given. During 2017, I gave 18 talks / hosted workshops.

The Gear

I'm a techie and I love my gear. I love it so much, I decided to devote a separate section on my website to some of the products that make my life an amazing adventure.

Roost Laptop Stand

Roost's laptop stand is a miracle maker. It folds into a small space and while traveling, it lives in a pouch that also fits in a small keyboard, a mouse, a USB hub and bunch of post-its and replacement batteries. With Roost, I can bring it anywhere with me and I don't have to break my neck looking down when working from co-working spaces, cafes and even the train. It has a good grip and it can accomodate all sizes of laptops.

At home, it's lifting my laptop screen on the same level as my 24" display and while on the road, it allows me to keep my head up providing a much more ergonomic posture. And it gives me a reason to carry my keyboard and mouse with me completing the combo.

Monbento Bento Box

I'm trying to live a minimalist life and one of the products that has really helped me downsize my kitchen stuff has been Monbento's Bento Box. I replaced my plates and bowls with that one and it works perfectly when I'm on the road. Well sealed lid keeps the heat and the liquid inside and under the top lid, you can fit telescope chopsticks.

Another perk Monbento's Bento Box brings to my life is that it helps me limit my meal size. I fill one of the containers with veggies and fruits and another one with the main meal. If it doesn't fit in, it doesn't make the cut. There's also a small sauce holder included.

Amazon Basics Universal Travel Case

I have a lot of small stuff that used to live at the bottom of my backpack: couple of power banks, a Kindle, cables, memory sticks, adapters and pens. Then I found AmazonBasics Universal Travel Case and everything's nice and protected in a hard-cover case..

Universal Travel Case is very — well, universal. For someone like me who's constantly working on the road and giving presentations in different places, being able to keep my adapters and Powerpoint clickers in one place, protected is a huge bonus.
