Cards & Tokens
- 2-5 players
- Regular playing cards (2-A in ♠️, ♣️, ❤, ♦) + 2 jokers
- A notepad to keep score
Setup
- Shuffle the deck and deal 5 cards to each player, face-down. Players can look at their own cards.
Gameplay
- On a players turn, they play cards and draw a new card.
- To play, you place a valid set of cards on a shared discard pile.
- Valid sets are: any single card; any 2-, 3- or 4-of-a-kind; a straight flush of 2+ cards
- Player then draws 1 new card from either the deck or from the last set played by a previous player. Only the first or last card in a set can be picked up so order of in which you play your cards matter. For straights, they must be in ascending consecutive order.
- Continue until cards are called.
Calling cards, Scoring & Next round
- When a player has 5 or less points at the start of their turn, they can call the round by showing their hand. Ace is always 1.
- Every player then count the value of their hand (sum of values).
- If the player who called the cards has the lowest sum, they score 0.
- If they did not (or they tied with another player), they get 30 penalty points + the value of their hand.
- Everyone else always scores the value of their hand.
- Play until 200. Officially players drop out when they reach 200 but player elimination ain't fun.
- If player's score is every exactly 200, it gets reduced to 100. If it's 100, reduce to 50.
- Joker in hand is worth 0 points.
