Introducing: From Juhis with Love

In 2024, my goal was to become better at writing by publishing 100 pieces in my blog and newsletters. I succeeded with around 170 pieces at the end of the year.

For 2025, my writing goal is to become a better writer. Whatever that means.

One activity to work towards that is exploring more of the newsletter realm. Over the years I’ve written a short-lived What’s up with Juhis? newsletter, started and ran Dev Breakfast while working as a developer advocate at Futurice and most recently 1.5 years of Syntax Error, a newsletter about debugging, that I put on hold last July when I ran out of things to write about.

This year I’m returning to the roots and rebooting What’s up with Juhis? with a spiritual successor From Juhis with Love.

From Juhis with Love

From Juhis with Love is a personal newsletter written for people who share the same interests as I do. It’s an extension for my writing on my blog and my notes. In the newsletter, I’ll share what’s going on in my life in the context of technology, communities, writing, note-taking and all things in life. In addition, I’ll share good stories I’ve found from the web and the world.

I aim to teach you one new thing in every email and inspire you with something.

Where that path will lead us, I don’t know yet. I’d love you to join me for the adventure to unknown.

I published the first email as a preview to show a bit of what kind of email you can expect. This email, titled #000 - The Preview is available in the archive.

The newsletter has been inspired by Linda’s Hello Ruby newsletter and Cassidy’s rendezvous with cassidoo newsletter.

1,000 True Fans

It’s also part of my journey to discover and find my 1,000 True Fans.

One day, I want to find a way to make part or whole of my living through writing, teaching or otherwise creating something valuable enough for someone to pay for it.

More human curation

Last week, I called for more human curation over algorithmic recommendations. In my newsletter I want to do my part. Every email, I’ll share interesting blogs, articles, videos and other pieces that great people in the personal web are crafting.

I encourage readers to follow those people, their blogs and their work. There are so many fantastic people who share their work and learnings and I want to help spread the joy.
