Newsletters I read

Marc Thiele, Eric Bailey and Thomas Rigby all blogged about the newsletters they subscribe to and I found a few interesting ones there so I decided to join the fun and share the main ones that I subscribe and enjoy.
Hello Ruby by Linda Liukas
Linda’s Hello Ruby newsletter is a fantastic read every time. She writes about computer science, childhood, and culture.
The Curious About Everything Newsletter by Jodi Ettenberg
If you’re looking for new things to read and learn from, Jodi’s newsletter is full of them. Every month, the newsletter is filled with interesting stories about… well, everything. You never know what’s coming up but every month you’ll be delighted with something new you had never heard of.
rendezvous with cassidoo
Cassidy Williams’ rendezvous with cassidoo is a weekly newsletter for techies. It’s no secret that in addition to the previous two, this one has been a big inspiration for my own From Juhis with Love newsletter in structure, tone and style. There’s always cool stories and small code interview challenges in her newsletter so you’ll never stop learning new things.
Stack Overflow newsletter
Stack Overflow’s weekly newsletter features new posts from their blog, interesting questions from across the Stack Exchange network blog articles from all around the web.
I’m less interested in the first section but the questions and answers always bring me to learn something unexpected and the section with other people’s blog posts has led me to discover many new blogs to follow.
This Week in Rust
This Week in Rust is my main way of keeping track of what’s happening in the Rust world. As I only occasionally dabble in the craft, I like that there’s a great way to check what’s new in the community and what amazing things people have written about it.
Web Weekly
Web Weekly by Stefan Judis is a great newsletter to stay up to date with what’s happening in the world of web development.
Every week, you’ll learn something new, read about new web APIs or tools that are good to know of as a web developer.
Joukkoilmiöitä
For my Finnish speaking audience, I want to highlight Elina Uutela’s Joukkoilmiöitä newsletter which is not frequently updated but every time her writing is worth the wait. Elina is doing her doctoral research in social sciences and writes about topics in that realm.
If something above resonated with you, let's start a discussion about it! Email me at juhamattisantala at gmail dot com and share your thoughts. In 2025, I want to have more deeper discussions with people from around the world and I'd love if you'd be part of that.
